Bārzā is a lounge sofa that accommodates the different habits of sitting in traditional India. Bārzā is composed of a simple, bold structure in reclaimed teak, a long bolster backrest and a wide armrest overhang. The wide armrest overhang is utilitarian; embracing cultural behavior and addressing different situations like eating, working, sleeping or accommodating larger groups of people during social gatherings. The overhang reflects the subtle humor in a characteristic common to the Indians, taking every chance to add some extra space — from balconies of apartments to counter overhangs of the street food stalls.
