The British designer Daniel Rous derived the Fold’s design from traditional Indian chairs, made of solid wood, with a strict form and high back, steeped in Indian heritage. The act of preparing and serving food is of great cultural importance in India, which underpins Daniel’s design of the Fold dining chair. Its distinctive cushion feature, which is a single plane with a bend, extending in simplistic purity, retains the illusion of having a traditional high back, without impeding the traditional practice of serving food at the table.
Made using solid beech wood/ ash wood/ reclaimed teak, the form is accentuated with subtle and comfortable angles gives optimal posture and comfort.
